Kolcraft JL034-XSN1 Review by hollyannebrady

I purchased this product on Monday as we are selling our travel system and I wanted a stroller that I could lay back when we were out and about if my son gets tired and it has plenty of storage under it. My son is 15 months and 25 lbs. We went for our first walk yesterday and he loved it. He fits comfortably. It was a smooth ride. I do like how you can switch the switch on the front tire to make it swivel or not swivel(for jogging). I read some reviews about it not fitting in people's trunks. I have an '04 Pontiac Grand Am. It took a little effort, but I did manage to get it in and out in about 5 minutes. Some people complained about the color. I admit I wanted a green one from Walmart but I found this one at a better deal at Sears. So I took it. Plus color doesn't really matter as long as it gets the job done. Mine did not come with the IBABY sound system, but it does have a big compartment I can put my ipod speakers in and 2 cup holders for me/husband. On my sons tray it has two cup holders, two snack holders, and the spot in the middle for the wheel. Another thing is when he drops his drink it goes into the front basket, which has a divider to the other basket so it doesn't get mixed into other things I might have in the stroller. I love this stroller and am very happy with it.

Kolcraft JL034-XSN1 Review by B. Harrington "veryhappyfamily" (Maryland, USA)

I bought this stroller 2 months ago to use for city walking (I am a stay at home mom). It is great for this purpose. I go on daily walks over bumpy sidewalks and over curbs with ease. We walk about 3-4 miles per day. I am pretty rough with it and so far so good. After assembly, we took it to the gas station to fill the tires to the correct pressure. I always leave the wheel in swivel mode. Good handle height for me (5'3") and my 6' hubby.
My son seems comfortable, with lots of room to grow. He is 25lbs/30" and we have no issue with fabric/seams pulling. My son is eating snacks/drinks on strolls, so the tray is handy. It could be designed to set a little lower/closer to him, but he will grow into it. Right now he has a pretty far/high reach for what he wants in the snack cubby. Once my son learned how to use the steering wheel and horn, he loves this feature. Some strollers have fabric that can't be properly cleaned, leaving either food stains or water marks, but this fabric has always come clean with water. I find the canopy coverage adequate.
There is a small visor tucked into the canopy that can be extended for a couple extra inches of shade. That helps. Also, I have to stand up on my toes and lean into the stroller to see through the window in the canopy. I wish it was designed so all I had to do was glance down, but the window is too far forward in the canopy.
The two cup holders for grown ups are awesome. I usually have a water and a Venti tea in mine! Also, we have the large (24 oz) Tervis tumblers and they fit in the cup holders. There is a nice space for cell phone/sunglasses between the cup holders. I love this.
The cargo space under the stroller is HUGE. No complaints there and I fill it often! I love that there is front and rear access to the cargo area. Oh, one of my favorite things is that the front cargo area extends further than the baby's feet, so when he takes his shoes/socks off they fall into the cargo area and not the sidewalk to be lost forever. GREAT DESIGN FEATURE! (Shoes are expensive.)
The stroller is heavy. I am average build and find it manageable. I do fold it, lock it, and throw it in the back of my SUV to go to the zoo. It takes up a lot of space. We had a Dodge Charger as a rental a few weeks ago, and it JUST fit in the truck. (The front wheel isn't removable.) It's too big for shopping, though often I still take it into stores. Just be prepared to get stuck and back out of narrow spaces.
I use the little utility bags on the sides of the stroller, though initially I thought I wouldn't. One is for my dog's water and treats and the other is an emergency diaper and wipes. The perfect fit for those items. They aren't the most robust, so a bottle of water is as heavy as I'd load one side.
I get compliments on it often, and other kiddos are really jealous of his steering wheel. A stroller is meant to be for the CHILD and not a status symbol for the parent, and as such this stroller is what it is... a good design and tough. But, be prepared to have a smaller stroller that you keep in the car for trips to the mall, etc. This stroller really isn't meant for daily "in and out of the car" use. (Well, unless you have a really good chiropractor!) Overall I am really glad we bought it!

Kolcraft JL034-XSN1 Review by James E. Martin (Akron, OH, US)

This is a great stroller. It is well constructed and very sturdy. Assembly was straight forward with easy to read instructions. This is a large stroller and quite heavy but that is what I wanted. This is not a stroller that you would easily throw into the trunk of your car or take through an airport. I feel this is a stroller that you would want to keep in the garage and take out for a stroll. It has an abundance of useful features and an expansive basket beneath. The cup holders for (both) the child and adult are a nice feature. The wheels are comfortable and easy to push and the option to lock the front wheel is handy. The seating space for the child is roomy and appears quite comfortable. All in all I feel this is a great stroller, very comfortable for the adult to operate and the child to occupy; just be aware that it is not a lightweight, easily transportable stroller.
