I bought this for my husband. If you're like him and drink out of travel mugs, then this thing, filled to its max, is 2 cups of coffee at the most (more like 1.5). Overall the quality is fine for the price. But just keep in mind that you get what you pay for with french presses. Don't expect world-class coffee.

As other reviewers have stated, the glass is very fragile. I'm not even sure how it broke, but I picked it up one day off the counter to use and noticed there was a slight crack. The next time I picked it up, a piece of glass detached. I hand washed it every time, so it was cared for carefully. I don't think I would buy this again simply for that reason.

I love this press. It's seen me through countless mornings after sleepless, baby-filled nights. And I'll love it again, after I purchase a replacement for the glass beaker. While I really like the aesthetics of this design, I frequently found it difficult to get the handle back over the lip of the beaker after a washing. I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong, but it just always seemed like it was just barely going to fit each time and I had to muscle the handle into place. Then, this morning, the inevitable happened. I used a little too much muscle, and the handle clipped down too hard and shattered the glass in my hands. I sliced open my thumb and thoroughly freaked myself out by the sight of my own blood pooling in the coffee grounds.
But I'll give it another try. Maybe there's a trick someone wants to share? Until then, I suppose I'll leave it up to my husband- he already does all the jar lids.
