I used the in my 85 Subaru Brat.
First, they are much brighter than the extra vision headlight I had. The light has a good pattern, lots of light up front, like a driving light, then tapers off as it goes out like regular headlights.
Next, you need to buy your own bulbs for about 10$ each. I also needed to change the wiring, the plug is the same but the wires connect to different terminals on the new light. If you want to go back to your old lights, you have to change the wiring back. It would have been nice if they included a diagram of how to hook up the wires, but since there is only 3 wires, it dosent take to long to just figure it out.
Last, these were a little thinner than my old headlights, so when I tightened the housing back down, these lights would move around just a bit.
For about the same price as buying these and bulbs separately you can get a set with bulbs and wiring adapter, next time I might do that.

This is my second H4 conversion that I have done and this is by far the better of the two. The light is reflected much closer to where it should be. Closer but not quite right, the beam is fairly narrow and that is the only real drawback to them. I realize that too wide can be problematic for oncoming traffic but I can hardly see the shoulder of the road. I do a lot of night driving and I need a good beam pattern. For the price this kit works as good as I could hope for.

Reading the reviews, I am confused. The bulbs I used with mine on my 1988 Chevy Blazer is identical to the 4656 bulb. No adapter needed. Also have to say, it says kit, cuz it is 2 light fixtures. Kit does not imply it comes with the bulbs.
nevertheless, here to give a review. These housing are awesome, the hold the bulb, they are brighter than stock and you can use whatever H4 bulb you like, Myself I have a HID conversion kit, (Kit meaning 2 bulbs, and the wiring harness and the transformer) (had to do say that). Talk about bright, I dont even use the high beams anymore no need.
The housings do what they are designed to do house the bulb in place of the weaker stock sealed beam...
